Les Halles-Beaubourg

The Pompidou Centre is located on the plateau Beaubourg. It was President Georges Pompidou who asked Italian Renzo Piano and Gianfranco Franchini to build this architecture. In addition, this centre has been recently renovated. It is a modern art museum that houses a collection of prestigious paintings and works.
Nearby, on the site Igor Stravinsky, is the mechanical fountain by Niki de Saint Phalle and Jean Tinguely. Fifteen sculptures in motion somersault, lowculent spewing water into a bassin of 33 meters 17. Les Halles are built first under Philip Augustus, who erected in 1187, two long buildings that are designed to store and sell products and merchants. A third hall was built in 1265, then two more for the fish. But in the nineteenth century, the Halles became too narrow and were relocated in 1962, the market of Rungis. The city of Paris restored the district and inaugurated the Forum des Halles in 1979.
The church of Saint Eustache plan takes Gothic Notre-Dame de Paris by introducing sets of the Renaissance. The church is 106 meters long, 44 meters wide and 33 meters high. The funeral of Molière, La Fontaine, Mirabeau and Mozart's mother took place in the church of St Eustache.
Saint Jacques tower is the only part of the ancient church St Jacques which was destroyed by its owner. It measures 52 meters, divided into 4 floors decorated with openwork stone.
La Fontaine du Palmier was controlled by Napoleon. First-column fountain with decorations and a golden Victory is high in 1806 on the place built after the demolition of the gatehouse which was a former prison. In 1860-1862, it is moved to mark the new center of the square. The four sphinxes were added then.
Etienne Marcel installed the municipality of Paris on July 7, 1357 Place de Greve, the former name of the Place de l'Hotel de Ville. But it was Francis who built this building. A wing and a pavilion were added in 1837 to the City Hall. The Hotel de Ville was burned when Paris capitulated. It was rebuilt in the same style from 1873 to 1882.
